President Trump has declared that he rolling back Obama’s policy of allowing transgendered people to serve “in any capacity” in the US military. The usual suspects have come out of the woodwork stating how “discriminatory” this policy reversal is and that it is fuelled by bigotry. I don’t know the President well enough to determine if his decision is based on bigotry or not; but looking at some basic information regarding transgendered people gives enough of a reason to accept that this ban is the right course of action.
In the US, more than 20 veterans commit suicide every day (about 7,300 each year), and although these figures are often contested, it is the cause that is questioned, not the actual number of bodies. The average male suicide rate is far higher in the general population, around 19 per 100,000; and more men are in the military…in 2011 men made up around 85% of military personnel.

No it isn't. It is about people knowing their actions are wrong but not having the strength to do something about it, and not having support because people like this think this writer think this is normal.

The purpose of an army, any army, is to make a great deal of noise, break things, and kill people. They are the final tool to be used when all alternative means of persuading others to accept your tribe on an equitable basis in negotiations and diplomacy have failed, and once deployed, the fight is to the death. Rules of engagement are defined by whichever side is the most ruthless.
The whole point of negotiations and diplomacy is to never to have to deploy that army. But if that is needed, only the very best army you can muster shall do. Their loyalty and capabilities must be beyond question.

Just listened to retired Gen Jack Keane on Fox Business say Trump should have waited for Mattis to finish the report he’s requested from the service chiefs on what to do with “transgenders” in the miitary.....then Trump should do what Mattis recommends. WRONG, Trump is the president and has made his mind up. Mattis was not blind sighted. His job is a lot easier now. He should call a news conference and say “the president’s order is crystal clear and will be immediately executed.”

Unfortunately this argument leads to the response that letting TGs in the military is a huge step to stop what is causing the suicides.
Too bad. I am a Binary Pangender Gender-Questioning Cisgender Male and I want to transgender into a Gender Fluid Non-binary Genderqueer Nonconforming Transfeminine Autobot. I was planning on making the taxpayers fund it by joining the military but it seems I will have to think of another way scamming some one else to pay for this.

The Democrat / Liberal / Progressive group have taught the youngsters in school that it is their ‘Right’ to choose their gender, regardless of their genes and the teachings of science. Our job, as taxpayers, is to fund this new ‘Right’.

I am prior service, Active Duty and Reserves, and served in Desert Storm. The US Army is not a “Social Experiment” it is a defense organization. I don’t understand why certain groups that are mentally unstable or have sexual issues demand to not only be a part of this organization, but they want preferential treatment while in that said branch of service. This is the Army/Marine Corps/Air Force/Navy, not a social club in San Francisco where you have beauty pageants nor is it Hollywood where everything is make believe. The suicide rate is extremely high, 41 out of 100 will attempt suicide in their lifetime. No other group is higher. This is a danger to any military

This has never been about patriotism or service to the country. This has always been a scam for less than 1% of the population to have taxpayers pay the very expensive costs of their hormone treatments, surgery and the rest of what goes with a “trans”-formation.
Don’t pay another cent out of our pockets.
