Cruz is looking toward 2020. If Trump does not fire Mueller, he may be finished as POTUS, either by impeachment, resignation or a mea culpa like LBJ. Cruz is in the wings.
I think I’d rather see him as Senate majority leader. He’s been darn effectime and creative with his legislation. I think he would flourish in a leadership role..if the Senate can, in fact, hold on to a majority. McConnell has to go.

Then Cruz showed his hand by deciding that he was Constitutionally qualified to be President. I don’t want anyone on the bench who either 1. doesn’t understand what a Natural Born Citizen is, or, 2. is willing to twist the plain meaning of the Constitution for self-serving purposes.
