It would have been prettier as a white top and blue skirt dress with a red belt. Whose idea was it to place scraps of white cloth on the front? I swear designers do tacky stuff like that to fool people into thinking it is high fashion. I read somewhere it was suppose to be a sheaf of wheat, though there was no enlightenment for what a sheaf of wheat would have stood. Other then that the dress is lovely as is our first lady.

Take a look at these Shinto festoons from Japan.

I think the inspiration for the white cloth comes from this Asian influence. To me, it's what makes the dress alluring.

It definitely breaks fashion rules.
