Donald Trump announced in an Iowa rally last week that he would be seeking to put in place laws that mean newly arrived migrants would be ineligible for collecting any form of Welfare payments during their first five years in the country. Based on a survey of 1000 people, polling company Rasmussen has announced that a large majority support President Trump position on this.
The two questions asked were:
1* Before anyone receives local, state or federal government services, should they be required to prove they are legally allowed to be in the United States? 2* A proposal has been made to bar immigrants to the United States from receiving taxpayer-funded welfare benefits for the first five years they are in this country. Do you favor or oppose barring new immigrants to the United States from receiving welfare benefits for at least five years?

Refugees are not escaping anything...they’ve safely in the US...
Why are they getting welfare ???
immigrants have also left their home countries and given everything up...
PLUS if the refugees are “escaping” once they are out of their own country they are free safe etc...
why have they bypassed 1, 2 or more countries to come all the way here ???
its much more expensive to fly here than just go next door by bus or train etc...
I still ask WHY ???
just to say the refugees are “escaping” is not good enough...not a reason to give them welfare we don’t give our own American citizens...
You might want to sit down (or have a stiff drink) before reading this-————they even meet the refugees at the airport and show them the ropes.

The refugee didn’t plan to come here, hasn’t saved for it. The nonrefugee immigrant is presumed to have saved or arranged the wherewithal to make a start in the new land. Real refugees like the Vietnamese in the 80s and 90s and the Cuban argonauts have added a lot to American culture and economy (and tend to vote republican). The Christians and Yezidis from the ME tend to fit in well and some need no initial aid anyhow because the Orthodox and Catholic parishes take them in. The Jews from anywhere have been and are assets. Any more they go to Israel. They assimilate to America, work hard and do not try to recreate the old country in the new country.
