It was explained to me that Jews are attracted to the idealistic *promise* of heaven on Earth, because they have no belief, as such, in Heaven as an afterlife.

So, if paradise on Earth is the best you can hope for, what does that mean? First off, it means that Jews are *susceptible* to the desire to have a “messiah”, who will create a Jewish paradise on Earth.

Jews were badly burned by falling under the spell of a self proclaimed messiah named Sabbatai Zevi (1626-1676). Most of the European Jews got caught up in his fellowship.

So after that time, instead of trying to find a messiah, they sought out an idealistic philosophy that would fulfill that role.

Because the origins of leftism are basically an atheistic parody of The Bible, especially the Pentateuch, turned on its head, it was easier to grasp for both Jews and Christians. And because leftists will make idealistic promises about *anything* and *everything*, it made things particularly easy for non-religious Jews to embrace it.

The Jews rejected the true Messiah because he was not going to perpetuate their egotistic perception of Jewish reclamation of world power, such reclamation which was never going to happen again. This was the abomination of desolation spoken of in Daniel. This abomination of desolation was to be the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70 by general Titus.

After this destruction, they could no longer trace their ancestry back to Abraham as the genealogical records were destroyed. Even John the Baptist said that they should not take false comfort in the notion they could trace their ancestry back to Abraham, since God could raise up of rocks descendants of Abraham.

The only hope of contemporary Jews for salvation is to abandon their false religion and become faithful members of the church of Christ. (Acts 4:12)
