That was already done....cutting off diplomatic ties with Qatar was because they refused to do those ten requirements...

This is a huge surprise. I’m wondering if this is the result from Trump’s trip to the ME last week?

Exactly right!....Erdogan is desperately trying to hold together the shards of the Ottoman empire...With the isolation of Qatar Erdogon lost his last source of funding for his isis jihadi network too. Turkey is now completely isolated and boxed in with no outlet anywhere.....however Erdogan is a bull in a china closet...will have to see how he rages.

Plus Germany is pulling out their Troops from the air bases there....Erdogan was warned time and again....he never listens....

Again....how the bull will react to all this has yet to be seen...he’s one nasty character fully capable at doing the unmentionable to get what he wants. He has threatened more than once to cut loose all the refugees , even boat and fly them into Europe if they put his back against the wall....

The price of all that military equipment we’re sending there costs more than just cash.......of course the Arabs are getting more than equipment....Trump just elevated them back to being in charge of the ME and dethroned the Obamas Iranian place.

And just this week we bombed the iranians in Syria.....something Obama would have never done....

Bloomberg

The biggest Middle East oil and container ports banned all vessels sailing to and from Qatar from using their facilities amid a diplomatic crisis gripping the world’s main energy-exporting region.

It is not specifically LNG embargo - it is general closing of ports in the Gulf states to Qatar traffic.

It is amazing that the Saudi’s condemn the activity of Qatar, given that the activity of KSA and also all the other states is in full support of extremism. They must have to find a scapegoat right now.

It is highly unusual for the GccA to go wild like this.

Thanks for the link.

This is far from an embargo, and a blockade is an act of war. Not even close.

From your source: “It’s more of a logistical issue that you can get around,” Jonathan Lee, chief executive officer of shipping pool operator Tankers International, said of the inability of Qatari ships to fill their tanks at Fujairah. “It’s not the end of the world.”

Why didnt the Saudi challenge Obama that way back then?

Also why dont they also challenge the current State Department refusing to consider the MB as terrorists?

The one effect I’ve noticed from video feed from within the country is that truck deliveries from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, etc....are cut off to Qatar now. Food going fast out of grocery operations. Maybe some supply in local warehouses for three or four weeks, but there’s some local anxiety building up over how this emergency was created and how it will end.

Food could flow in via ships or aircraft, but that either increases the cost factor or adds two weeks onto planning/execution. My guess is that Iran would flow some food in via ships and help keep them covered. Long-term, if this went on for 100 days, it’s a mess.

Add to this...Qatar Airways is shutting down. You can’t fly out and cross over Saudi territory, and that really screwed up their tourism angle. Saw a video of the airport from last night....it’s shut down for the most part. If flying into Europe, you’d add an hour onto the normal flights....going via Iraq and Turkey. This also brings up the topic if European tourists would feel safe there.

Maybe theatrics, but if SA and Egypt carried this on for a hundred days...Qatar would be hurting and forced to cling to Iran.

This has to be Trump’s doing. This is awesome. Finally we are making deals that help all sides, US FIRST.

I believe KSA wants Qatar to do their bidding, or else things will be nasty, maybe some shooting, but they will use a lot of other pressure before shooting, There is that inconvenient US base in Qatar. Not to mention Tillerson’s XOM LNG factories. They will walk softly and carry a big meditation bead string.

I believe KSA wants Qatar to do their bidding,

For sure.

But What better way to drive up the price of oil than to have a stand-off, or even shooting war, with a Gulf neighbor?     http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/3558714/reply?c=55

That's just a pantload, IMHO.
