There's close and then theres REALLY too close! Watch as a hog almost takes this hunter out. Let me set the scene: A trio of hounds have a large hog pinned to the ground while a hunter shouts commands from some 15 feet away. Well, at least that's how it begins. The scenario quickly unravels, however, as the pig suddenly leaps to it's feet and begins a direct charge forward.
This intense video shows why hog hunting isn't for the faint of heart. Things can change in a split second, and as you're about to see, this hunter came within inches of getting seriously hurt or worse. See the too close hog hunt footage here.
SC—we were advised to keep to the litte-er ones. I got two—80 and 81lbs—Goooooood eating.
Thank you for your responses. I am pretty south in NY state but well near Poughkeepsie but real country.
I heard the recording on the internet and it sounds just like that what I am hearing. The thing came right under the bedroom window last night. Its getting bold.
Yep I have traps too. Better get busy. Thanks for your help.
Constantly having to deal with feral hogs here on the ranch, the big one’s we leave for the coyotes and buzzards, 75 lbs and smaller we keep. Those around 25 lbs are split and grilled or cooked whole.
Is feral hog meat any good? I would imagine a good, long smoking session would do wonders to flavor it up and reduce the gamey taste.
Cars. Cars and roads are the solution to the armadillo invasion.
Yep, I’m trying! :)
I see a dozen dead armadillos on our highways every day I’m out and about.
I’ve trapped and did away with four of these pests in the past two/three weeks.
The turkey buzzards seem to enjoy them...
Ever try to crock pot them? We have taken some pretty tough meat and did it in a crock pot and it all came out pretty good. Pulled pork of sorts could be done that way.
Agreed. I learned that the hard way.
Hog killing isn’t a sport.
It’s a necessity.
Fishers are agile, so much so they are able to kill porcupines. I caught one in a leghold trap out of season and had to release it. He did not think I was his best friend. When I had him free, he briefly thought of going for my leg but ambled off. They ar not small animals.
A very big weasel, with a really, really ugly face!
