While you’re there, be sure to vote in the “why does Hillary wear blue sunglasses” poll!

To hold up her pants.

None of them give me any concern.

They should because they leak more often than they ought to. That said, as an Iowan, I'd much much rather have that oil passing through my state in a pipeline than by rail cars, which is a way way worse method to transport oil.

Seems a lot of their polls end up in the 55/45 range with the 55 being the intelligent answer. Makes them halfway believable.

It’s nuts to be this upset about building a pipeline.

In the first place, the U.S. is already covered with pipelines. This article includes a map of those exiting in the U.S. today.

In the second place, the damage to the environment from transporting crude oil in trucks and trains is much greater than the damage from transporting it in pipelines.

Once you accept that there is no such thing as “sacred Sioux land”, the answer becomes a lot simpler.

Not much public good if they are gonna ship the product overseas after refining it down south.

The water supply for the Sioux has been changed, at great expense, as a precaution based on an extremely minute risk. The pipeline is a mile away from any of their “land”.

They all signed off in the very beginning and were well informed......to come back well after things had moved along and protest was nothing but an environmentalist ploy to create an issue where there was none in order to make the news....they USED the Sioux....and that’s all there was to it.

This Pipe line is for Canada to push oil through the US to the gulf and ship it out rather than by rail across Canada......we do not get the oil.

Most don't realize we do not get the oil...it gets shipped out. That's why I was iffy about where I stood on it because if there's a spill WE have to pay the millions to clean it up......and although some would be employed building it for a time....once completed only a few will remain for general maintenance. I think Trump would have certainly got a better deal on this....but on the other hand getting things moving in this country is important at this time......

Dakota Access ends at a big crude storage facility in Pakota Hub in Illinois, where other crude pipelines also terminate. From there, most crude is sent via other pipelines to a dozen or more refineries, mostly north and east. Quite a coincidence if all those refineries only ship products for export!

I’m not familiar with all the connections etc.....as I understand it though Canadian oil is intended to be shipped out via the Gulf.....

Patoka Hub also sends oil to Texas refineries, who also do not exclusively export their products.

“they USED the Sioux....and that’s all there was to it.”

Not all of the Sioux; just one slimy faction of it that didn’t participate until the end of the process...though they were invited.

Was President Trump right to pull the U.S. out of the Paris Climate Agreement?

No. The United States should take the lead against Global Warming. (52%)

Yes. Global Warming is a foolish hoax. (48%)
