Late-Night Trump Hatred vs. Primetime News
Canada Free Press ^ | 05/25/17 | Roger Aronoff

Trump hatred drives ratings. But journalists, having stooped so low as to be indistinguishable from third-rate, hostile, buffoonish comedians like Maher and Colbert

The anti-Trump venom from the mainstream media has become so virulent that broadcasters and reporters alike risk becoming little more than extensions of the late-night “comedic” lineup, bashing the President without regard for truth or factual accuracy. And above all, most of these journalists realize, and sometimes admit, that they want to help the Democrats win the next election.

The comparison between late night show hosts and the news media becomes stark when one compares Joy Reid’s new segment on MSNBC, “Flip This House,” to Bill Maher’s “Flip A District” on HBO in the run-up to the 2014 elections. The goal for both of them was to try to help Democrats win elections, with Maher admitting on his website that he was “outright meddling with the political process.”

“Maher admitting on his website that he was “outright meddling with the political process.””

Maher admits he is working with the Russians!

Throw him in jail for vote tampering in the US with Russian!

Time for the DEPLORABLES to turn of the tube and boycott the sponsors. Something should be done about HUFFINGTON POST too. Her site should be banned from FREE REPUBLIC. What a vile website.

It is far past time for this BS notion conservatives got from Limbaugh, Hannity, and Beck that Boycotts are supposedly “uncivilized”.

If people can take on Target over the bathrooms, then take some darn time to extend it out to these other people too!

I can’t remember the last time I heard a “news organization” claim they were allowed to operate independent from from ownership. They used to at least try to argue they operated outside the larger corporate structure.

The fact is that “news organizations” are part of enormous media conglomerates and are literally competing for attention and resources with “late night comedy shows” as well as other interests the conglomerate owns. One metric used in the competition is viewership and a measurable percent of viewers in key demographics admit to getting their “news” from late night comedy. A “smart news executive” who wants to impress his bosses will “learn” from that and make adjustments.

Do Conservatives plan ANY kind of equal time when this kind of thing is so rampant?

I mean-Are they too broke or too stupid to ‘counter’ Liberal BS media?

Do they think of themselves as ‘above’ that activity? With all their $$$$ and so-called talent, I think shying away from ‘giving what they got’ put them into the jackpot, to begin with.

Permitting low-life and low-IQ officials and HWood scum to openly mock them for decades is not going to cultivate a base! Hell-there’s a whole industry populated with a crowd of Liberal morons who are making damn fine careers out of trashing Conservatism! Sheeesh

The entire Left is now bitterly waging the equivalent of a political war against all things conservative. Trump is their primary target, but they won’t stop there. The battle has entered a viscous and dangerous phase. They are no longer content with disagreeing; they want to destroy. And they believe that the ends justifies the means so their tactics are growing increasingly venomous, intimidating, and hostile.

There has to be an acceptance of the legitimacy of the people’s will in between elections or the system won’t work. Expressing differences in political views is healthy. But hostility and democracy don’t mix.

We've seen them turn viciously on political figures, journalists, news media commentators, entertainers, sports stars, educators, companies, college student groups, anyone who even hints at holding views with which they disagree

It is seeming like a civil war of “ideologies”

and I blame the feckless GOP establishment for not being a key ally of we the people against this madness - we went out in November and clearly expressed our will and THEY are supposed to be serving us, not patronizing ignoring and ruling us

The GOP needs to grow some balls and stand up against this fake made up “Russian conspiracy” crap and endless arrogant fake news criticism of the President - how insulated ARE these people?

Let's END IT. The “emperor” ( democrats losers) HAVE NO CLOTHES. NOT ONE SPINELESS REPUBLICAN HAS STOOD UP!!!!!

Do they think WE believe this crap?
Do they think the pollsters are talking to US?
Do they think those shrill demagogues and thugs disrupting their town halls really are THEIR constituents?

I could not agree more. They are basically just a bunch of political cowards who are only in it for themselves. We are in an epic battle with the Left and they have deserted us.

and you know what’s maddening? If you write to any of them or try to call, you get the brush off because you are not a “constituent”

yet they stand up there and posture on issue like they speak for the party

My Senators are Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen for godssake, talk about having no representation whatsoever

I believe the National Enquirer runs at least once per presidential term a story that the President and First Lady are going to divorce. This has been run since at least Reagan and they have not been right yet. Would anyone be surprised if the NYT or Washington Compost ran that story? Would it be any better sourced than the National Enquirer story?
