I think tomato was added later. The word “ketchup” itself is derived from the Chinese name for it. I looked it up on Wikipedia, so that makes me an expert.

What would be considered white food, that white restaurant owners could cook without being guilty of cultural appropriation, so some racist POS, SOB, MOFO, won’t get his knickers in a wad? Can Chinese serve suchi? Can Japanese serve curry? Can the Indians serve a triple whopper with cheese, or Hungarian goulash? Can the Pakistanis serve fish and chips? My guess would be, any of them can serve whatever they want, except whites won’t be able to do the same.
