Kohn: Here’s how we have a special election and make Hillary President anyway
Hot Air ^ | February 20, 2017 | Jazz Shaw

So is anyone still in denial over idea that Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is a thing? If so, look no further than regular CNN contributor and perennial Democratic supporter Sally Kohn. While I happened to miss this original announcement the good folks at the New York Post highlighted a plan which Kohn tweeted out a few days ago. It’s a brilliant strategy and just what the chanting masses in the streets have been hungering for. In a few simple steps progressive activists will be able to sweep away the results of the 2016 election and install Hillary Clinton as the President of the United States. It’s fairly short, so let’s check in and see what it involves.

(TWEET-AT-LINK)

Last week, cable news personality Sally Kohn tweeted what she called a “straightforward” plan that would eject Donald Trump and install Hillary Clinton into the presidency: “1. Impeach Trump Pence; 2. Constitutional crisis; 3. Call special election; 4. Ryan v Clinton; 5. President Clinton.”

Genius! Is that really all there is to it? Why didn’t we think of that in 2008 or 2012?

I assume that by now someone has corrected Sally on the error of her ways but let’s think about that for a moment. Assume hypothetically that you could come up with some rapidfire process to trump up some charges (if you’ll pardon the wording) and boot the president out of the Oval Office. Mike Pence would then immediately be sworn in as the next president. Somewhere deep down inside the fire swamp of Sally’s imagination there is apparently a list of high crimes or misdemeanors which Mike Pence is already guilty of. Okay, let’s just go with that. So we impeach Pence and then…

Assuming that you managed this 2nd feat of impeachment so fast that President Pence would not have had time to designate a new vice president then Speaker Paul Ryan would be sworn in as president. So far so good, Sally. So now we have Paul Ryan as President of the United States and we… Call for a special election?

Pardon me for a moment while I flip through my handy pocket Constitution. Let’s see here… Nope. There doesn’t seem to be anything in here about a special election for the presidency. I suppose Hillary Clinton could run against Paul Ryan in 2020 but that doesn’t really solve your problem now does it?

This is apparently the sad state of affairs not only out in the streets right now but on the set of major cable news outlets. Trump Derangement Syndrome is in full swing and affecting the minds of liberals in terrible ways. While I may not agree very often with Sally Kohn when she writes the occasional opinion piece or expounds at length on the issues of the day on CNN, I’m fairly sure that she knows that’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works. But all she has left is her bitterness over the results of the election and her hatred of all things Trump.

Are we really in for four straight years of this? And if so, will the replacement for Obamacare include any sort of coverage for long-term therapeutic treatment for people who have fallen prey to this affliction?

Even if this bogus plan succeeds, HRC would only be President of a fraction of the country. The rest of the country would not accept her. There would be a civil war.

all I have to say is, don’t assume that Trump will leave if he’s Impeached, Impeachment doesn’t always remove a President. remember Bill Clinton he was Impeached & he didn’t leave. only if it rises to the level of removal & since there’s no proof there’s no removal.

As a hypothetical Constitutional exercise, this would work:

Step 1: Use Clinton Foundation money to convince Ryan to resign as Speaker. Then get the House to appoint Hillary as Speaker. (The Speaker doesn’t actually have to be a member of the House.)

Step 2: Impeach and convict Trump.

Step 3: Quickly impeach and convict Pence.

Presto! President Hillary!

(There is also a Step 4. It involves a Civil War.)

Oh, there’s a treatment for out-of-control TDS.

A high-speed injection of copper and lead to the anterior cranium of the sufferer. In any of the convenient doses: .38, .40, .45, or 9mm. . .

Impeachment is a political tool.

The left forgot their own lesson. Look how they went about it against Nixon. First they removed his Vice President.

Then they spent a couple of years turning the nation against Nixon. Only after making Nixon the most hated man in America did they started Impeachment.

Republicans failed to remove Clinton from office simply because he had a lot of public support. There was no real down side for the Senators to not vote for removal.

The left have been trying to demonize President Trump so his base will abandoned him. Not working. First this is not the 1970 where the left had complete control of what the American people see or heard. Second they are still using the same old playbook that we have seen in the past. We know they are lying. Third, President Trump is not Nixon, people actually like him and more importantly they trust him over the media.

Impeachment is a left wet dream, nothing more.

I am more afraid they will go with the last fall back position, the Kennedy option.

She left out 0. Toss the Constitution into the trash heap.

Which Constitution? The written Constitution that means what the words literally say, or the "Living Constitution" than means whatever the Ctrl-Left freak with the loudest shriek wants it to mean?

We're going to have a lot of entertainment coming from the craziest wing of the far-left fringe. The losers have nothing else to do now that the rule of law is being restored.
