I doubt they’ve lost interest in impeaching Trump, but I guess it says something about the American left that they can make other demands driven by pure ideology without any regard for the merit of the idea itself.
The left - at least those who know what football is - has become convinced thaat Colin Kaepernick is being “blackballed” by all 32 NFL teams because he refused to stand for the national anthem last year. This has become such an article of faith that they are now getting ready to hold rallies in 15 different cities demanding that someone sign the unemployed quarterback:

Because most NFL fans tend to be patriotic, these antics could well be the kiss of death to the kneeling crack-pot’s career. What NFL owner would want to appear to be endorsing their project?
Kap played for the worst team in the NFL last year and spent half the season sitting on the bench. That’s all you need to know about why he’s unemployed now.
There are worse things than selling fries at McDonald’s. Mid-season replacement QB for the 0-8 Browns comes to mind.

Good. Let them buy or rent a stadium, hire coaches, trainers, doctors, physical therapists and the hundreds of other people needed to field a team.

Then, they can hire Colon to wear Che t shirts and Isis signs to be their QB!
These are the people keeping K unemployed. K’s skills are inconsistent at best. Why would a team take a chance on him knowing that if they later had to cut him they would have this insane clown posse protesting on their doorstep?

Colon was at least a so/so QB and did bring something to the hiring table at one time in his life.

He is being blackballed. But I also think his game has deteriorated to a point where he is backup material at best.
I am no fan, I hope he’s done in the NFL, but I think he’ll be signed by some team before the season starts.
Perhaps the GLBTWXYZ community could form their own league and sells tickets. They could call it the Authoritative Individual Diversity Specified (AIDS) League.

Even the Browns aren’t that desperate...
Keep in mind that the Browns won as many games last season as Kaepernick did. Without the distraction of him on the sidelines.. ;-)
(SF actually had two wins, but the other win was with their other looser quarterback.)
