“Trump sacrificed just about everything to try and save this wonderful country from a tyranny we didn’t even understand&rd”

This country has not been “wonderful” for a long, long time. Hilliary’s defeat in 2016 was a reprieve from the Almighty as far as I am concerned. One last shot to change our ways. We haven’t and we won’t.

Unborn babies are still being killed en mass in the name of the “women’s right” of abortion. Idoletry is rampant as we worship celebrities and the 0bama’s instead of Jesus. Homosexuality and gender confusion are celebrated and encouraged and is growing in massive numbers. Then so many of us who say we are on Gods side are afraid to stand up for what is right in fear of persecution, loved ones turning on us or fear of losing our jobs (that includes myself).

I can’t help but think our fate here in the USA is that of Sodom and Gammorah. God has given us years to repent and we just get more entrenched in Godlessness. Sooner or later his righteous judgement has to come upon us.

If Trump goes down, it will be the end for sure. Mike Pence is establishment scum and will govern as such.

“If Trump goes down, it will be the end for sure.”

I mostly agree, but there is one way Trump could shift the balance of power in our favor, even in defeat:

The battle lines are so blurred that even Reagan’s two historic landslides couldn’t slow the tide of socialism. That is because we elect our champions with the loosely bound coalition of pro-life conservatives, military defense conservatives, small government conservatives, constitutional conservatives, 2nd amendment conservatives, and now, America first border security conservatives. All the best causes if you ask this conservative, but we are fighting on too many fronts to establish any significant beachheads and after an eight year term, nothing is proved regarding what is the right way to self govern and what will bring us safety, prosperity and protect our culture.

I believe there is one conservative cause that unites all conservatives, namely, limited government conservatism. This is the cause that united the Founders when they drafted the constitution. They realized that a limited government would be in everyone’s best interest. They understood that freedom promites a healthy intellectual competition and begets a culture rich in moral values, as well as economic prosperity. They realized that economic and cultural prosperity reduce the need for debates over guns vs butter, social justice or income equality. All of these divisions are exacerbated under the suffocating hand of a large centralized government (socialism).

If past generations had not lost sight of this, abandoning the constitution and allowing the government to explode out of control, we would not now suffer under a regime where most industry, education and religion is nationalized, and we would not be experiencing the erosion of our economy, our cultural values and our liberties. I think there is still a conservative majority in the USA that knows this is wrong, but we are fractured and disconnected, and don’t recognize our common cause.

There is one thing Trump could do that would bring much needed clarity to politics: eliminate a couple of the big federal departments - the DOE, the EPA, the IRS - any two or three, it doesn’t matter which.

If Trump were to do that, the effect would be profound - it would be the first ever reduction in the size and scope of government in the history of the Republic and a clear message would be sent for the first time: there is a political party (Republican) that strives to cut the size of the government, and the opposing party (the Democrat) strives to increase the size and scope of government.

My prediction is that this simple clarity of purpose would unite a super majority of voters who have silently yearned for a smaller government all these years, but who are constantly confused, frustrated and disappointed by a Republican Party that fails to deliver on this one simple cause: cut back the damn government!

Yes, there would be a lot of angry swamp creatures both democrat and republican, and they and the leftist media would continue to condemn Trump and try to hound him out of office. There would be many angry urban leftists who feel entitled to redistributive socialism and are too ignorant to realize socialism hurts them most of all. The talking heads would say tut tut. those tax cuts are not revenue nuetral, or tut tut, wanting less government makes you a racist.

But I think there is still a strong majority that knows the government has grown way too powerful - they are just waiting for a champion.

If Trump actually cuts something significant he’ll get reelected by a Reaganesque landslide and go down as one of the great presidents. But even if the left destroys him politically, if he can manage to take a big gouge out of the federal government, he will have set a huge precedent and united a powerful political coalition for conservatives.

Go Trump!
