If they can’t produce... shutter NASA.
They’ve had 50 years and cannot even return to the moon. They have eight years to put up or shut up. Imo they’re not up to it. All their accomplishments are contracted out to 3rd parties, even the Russians! They have eight years. If they don’t produce then their charter is canceled. Standard business practice.

In fairness, successfully dropping several mobile landers on Mars (some still functional) and sending back photos with greater detail than an expensive earth-bound Nikon was no small achievement.
Likewise for the Cassini probe, et. al.
