If you havent heard by now, ESPN is laying off 100 members of their journalist and on-air talent staff today. One of the biggest names to be let go so far include Ed Werder, who found out that his dog is dying about 45 minutes before he found out he was fired from ESPN after 17 years of reporting. Other big names include Trent Dilfer, Dana ONeil, Jeremy Crabtree, and Danny Kanell (amongst others).
A quick perusal of Twitter will and youll see that one big name is noticeably missing from the list of fired ESPN on-air talent: Jemele Hill. People are becoming mean as hell out there, on an unacceptable level. Personally, I dont know enough about Jemeles body of work to understand why so many people hate her because I stopped watching ESPN several years ago when it became insufferable. Ive read through this list of Jemele Hill Controversies including suspensions and reprimands for overstepping the boundaries, and times she didnt get suspended when others mightve. So I have some semblance of why people want to see her fired, but Im by no means an expert on the situation.

Ed is really having a horrible time the last few years.
I have no idea who this person is. But it looks like Twitter denizens hate her. But then again...some of them hate everyone and all of them hate someone all the time.
At ESPN she is Beria.
She is black so is always safe.
Sounds like she has dual affirmative action protection.
Dilfer is the only one I’ve ever heard of.
I think the reason that ESPN hasn’t decided to let Jemele Hill go is rather obvious. She represents two demographics that when put together make her untouchable. No other person who was let go from ESPN represents both.
At the site, there is a picture of her wearing an anti-Trump, pro Maxine Waters shirt.
I have excised ESPN from my life for two years now and don’t miss it a bit. I would urge you all to do the same.
Best scenario ever:
Turn on ESPN and the TV shows an empty desk and very little lights on...Complete emptiness and silence....
Ivanka & Jared are available for ESPN.
o Give them something constructive to do.
o Results do not matter.
o Everybody is a lefty.
o Just show fake compassion.
I kinda like my scenario...LOL...Only in the background, you can hear the late Don Meredith singing, “Turn Out the Lights, the Party’s Over...”
How about that????:^)
ESPN and SC6 are unwatchable.
Step aside. Stop watching. Let ESPN die the miserable death it deserves. A SPORTS network without the LEFTIST SLANT will emerge and replace it.
I don’t even know who she is, but I can tell from her name why she wasn’t fired......
She’s black Social Justice Warrior that hosts Sports Center at 6 p.m. She’s everything that is wrong with ESPN.
Hardly any merit-centric layoff list makes it out of HR unscathed.
#10 Maybe even hear the game without all the blather.
The melanin suit of armor is impervious to all attacks. Wear it, and your enemies cower in fear.
I hate ESPN, it’s like watching “kill whitey” on CNN. And for Jemele Hill, she’s the biggest racist in sports besides Stephen Smith. Although I never and will never again watch ESPN, I do sometimes see it on at the workout place and see the captioning, from those snippets alone, I base my very objective judgement. YES...poor oppressed Jemele, put on your southern drawl, use some street lingo, and benefit by being a double untouchable and keep embarrassing yourself.
