I would make a guess that this was already talked about six months ago.

Stick to sports and stay out of politics. I only watch games on ESPN now. I never watch any of the other nonsense they have on, including SportsCenter.

I’m not sure who was behind the “more politics” plan, but before the other 100 get their pink slips, he should get his. I've yet to meet a single person who hasn’t noticed - and despised - the hackneyed political ramblings that have horned-in on the sports coverage.

Giving the finger to traditional Americans didn't work for JC Penny or Target - why would these people think it'd work for sports broadcasts? Idiots.

A more politically incorrect observation: nearly every show caters to blacks. Most highlight reels, lead-in music, etc. incorporate hip-hop music. Black anchors, guests, former athletes, etc. Black shows. Yes, American athletics are often dominated by blacks, but trying so hard to be an majority-black, hipper than thou network just won’t fly with the average viewer.

Their Board of Directors should be the first to go.

As I don’t watch ESPN, I won’t miss any of them

I have never once in my lifetime paid for satellite or cable TV. ESPN is still dead to me. :)

I have a rotating rooftop antenna and a Channelmaster DVR+. That gets me more for free than I could ever watch.

No cost and no commercials is the only way to fly.

The left destroys everything it touches. MTV and now ESPN. And of course Hollywood, which is churning out products you could not pay me to watch.

I read that fast, and I saw “ESPN to fire over 100 employees on air today” and I thought... Hmm, must see tv?? Kind of brutal though.

I never watch ESPN. I would dump it in a heartbeat if I could, but wife likes her cable too much, so I’m stuck paying for it even though I never watch it.

Too bad I can't boycott ESPN any more. I got rid of cable last December and I don't miss it a bit.

I'm 15 miles from DC in a valley and on a good day I can get over 80 channels of free crap from my TV antenna. Netflix and Hulu fill in the Gaps.

I did not realize that had THAT many on air faces.

But then again, I only watch basketball on ESPN. And only Celtics Basketball, so my exposure is minimal.

I DID know a lot of contractors for ESPN. At one time their gigs were pretty decent. And they were frequent.

In case anyone is still in doubt, even one of ESPN’s anchors admitted the ratings decrease and layoffs was largely because of it pushing politics:
