Question: did Pres Trump say that the list was for every vacancy he would fill or was the promise only for the Scalia seat? I am asking because I cannot remember.
The list is still likely the same, and if it grows I doubt new names would be any different than the ones on his first list.
It was for all of them, IIRC.
He probably has wiggle room on that - but IMHO he would be ill-advised to stretch the point. When he picks from the list, he can say that that list was elected when he was - and anyone who claims that a member of that list is “out of the mainstream” already had their chance to make that point. Before the election, they should have pointed out what they thought was wrong with the listed people.The fact that they didn’t do that speaks volumes about who is - and who is not - “mainstream."
