Campbell Soup Supply Co. will start construction of a 741,000-square-foot warehouse on Findlays north end by June.
The warehouse will employ 160 when it opens by summer 2018, south of Hancock County 212 and the McLane Co. distribution center, said Tim Mayle, director of Findlay-Hancock County Economic Development.
It will be shipping Campbell Soup to supermarkets and to individuals ordering food online, Mayle said.
Plans for the warehouse were approved Thursday by the Findlay City Planning Commission.
Separately, NWO (Northwest Ohio Orthopedics & Sports Medicine) won planning commission approval to build a 13,332-square-foot surgery center at the northeast corner of Hancock County 236 and U.S. 224.
Two existing buildings at the site will be demolished to make room for a NWO Surgery Center. Construction will start in June and the center is scheduled to open in spring 2018.
NWO will add 20 employees to staff the surgery center, said Matt Boehm, chief financial officer. It currently employs 155, he said.

That's good soup.
They make their soups with lots of salt. I’m happy they are creating more U.S. jobs but not a healthy choice.

I haven’t had Campbell’s soup in decades. Never cared for it.
One soup I love is the onion soup the local Japanese place has. There isn’t much in it admittedly but it tastes great.
I love salt.
I love salt, too, all salt. I like the Campbell’s soup salt and I like the flavored seasalts, especially the Habanero and the Ghost Pepper seasalt.
