In a clear effort to discredit President Donald Trump and keep Hillary Clinton clean, CBS Anchor Scott Pelley dismissed claims that the Clinton family received payments from Russia for American Uranium. Well, today, President Trump sewed confusion on the Russian investigation. He asked why the media are not covering, quote, Money from Russia to Clinton for the sale of uranium, he announced during CBS Evening News, Well, here's why: no credible source alleges that Hillary Clinton was paid by Russia for American uranium.

The nyt had one of the best articles I read on that uranium one deal. Bill clinton started that deal in 08.
Pelley’s assertion remains Fake News....
Gee... I certainly hope no ‘incidental’ comm archives were listened to ‘unmasked’ that reveal the Clinton Foundation talking to that Canadian guy who brokered the deal for 20% of US Uranium. I mean, it’d be real tempting to leak those comms if they happened, which of course they didn’t.
Here is a list of 11 questionable items forming a chain of events:
September of 2005: Canadian Frank Giustra visits Kazakhstan with Bill Clinton. Days later, his company UrAsia wins a major uranium deal with the country.
2006: Giustra donates $31 million to the Clinton Foundation.
February 2007: UrAsia merges with Uranium One and expands into the U.S..
June 2008: Russian atomic agency Rosatom begins talks to acquire Uranium One.
2008 to 2010: Uranium One and UrAsia investors donate $8.65 million to Clinton Foundation.
June 2009: Rosatom acquires 17% of Uranium One.
2010 to 2011: Millions more donated by Uranium One investors to Clinton Foundation.
June 2010: Rosatom requests Committee on Foreign Investment (of which the State Department is a member and its approval is needed) to approve a majority ownership in Uranium One, promising not to purchase 100% of it nor take it private.
June 2010: Bill Clinton receives $500,000 to speak at a conference held by the Russian investment bank involved in the Rosatom transactions.
October 2010: Committee approves Rosatom’s request to acquire a majority share in Uranium One.
January 2013: Rosatom purchases remainder of Uranium One and takes it private.
The origins of the story were reported in the NY Times in 2008 by Jo Becker, a co-author of the recent NYT piece:
Progre$$ive media water carrier caught in lie.. Film at 11.
Ben Rhodes.
Didn’t Moobacca list her 2 daughters as “staff” on at least one of her jet vacations?
So Pelley says Clinton was STUPID then, and just gave it away.
THAT'S A RED HERRING.
THE ISSUE IS .....
HILLARY GOT THE URANIUM TO THE RUSSIANS.
IT WAS STUPID, ILLEGAL AND PUNISHABLE AS A CRIME.
ONLY STUPID PEOPLE COMMIT CRIMES FOR NOTHING.
It funny but this is twice a NY Times story was later denied by the press when someone else pointed it out
It’s actually a pretty supportive article Just misleading headline.
The article, in January 2013, detailed how the Russian atomic energy agency, Rosatom, had taken over a Canadian company with uranium-mining stakes stretching from Central Asia to the American West. The deal made Rosatom one of the worlds largest uranium producers and brought Mr. Putin closer to his goal of controlling much of the global uranium supply chain.
Members of that group built, financed and eventually sold off to the Russians a company that would become known as Uranium One.
the sale gave the Russians control of one-fifth of all uranium production capacity in the United States. Since uranium is considered a strategic asset, with implications for national security, the deal had to be approved by a committee composed of representatives from a number of United States government agencies. Among the agencies that eventually signed off was the State Department, then headed by Mr. Clintons wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Canadian records show, a flow of cash made its way to the Clinton Foundation. Uranium Ones chairman used his family foundation to make four donations totaling $2.35 million. Those contributions were not publicly disclosed by the Clintons, despite an agreement Mrs. Clinton had struck with the Obama White House to publicly identify all donors. Other people with ties to the company made donations as well.
The New York Timess examination of the Uranium One deal is based on dozens of interviews, as well as a review of public records and securities filings in Canada, Russia and the United States. Some of the connections between Uranium One and the Clinton Foundation were unearthed by Peter Schweizer, a former fellow at the right-leaning Hoover Institution and author of the forthcoming book Clinton Cash. Mr. Schweizer provided a preview of material in the book to The Times, which scrutinized his information and built upon it with its own reporting.
So you are saying CBS has a point?
;-P
Well, here’s why: no credible source alleges that Hillary Clinton was paid by Russia for American uranium.
We’ve been saying this about the entire MSM for decades! He got it! He finally got it!
Oops, thought this would never happen to me... sorry, wrong thread. ;^D
Dear Mr. Pelly,
You might wish to read “Clinton Cash.”
