I would choose to live forever.
That would be nice but would you be willing to go back to work since it's unlikely your savings and Social Security would be able to sustain you for the rest of ...eternity.

Would YOU choose to live forever? For those on pensions, heck yeah! But forever would be cut short when the government pension fund goes broke. They'd pass a law against giving the pill to pensioners.

FULL TITLE: Would YOU choose to live forever?
Of course I would. There's a lot I still want to do that I will never have time to get done. Maybe not forever - I'm sure I'd get tired of it at some point, but not for a few hundred years.
We're not even at the beginning of advances that will allow human being to live in good health far longer than they do now. Unfortunately, those advances aren't likely to arrive in time to benefit anyone alive today, regardless of what Ray Kurzweil says.

People will live forever....for about five months, and then they will seek death and desire to die, but they will not find death.

Hit the nail on the head ... almost - your wife lives forever, but you turn into Hillary ...

Live forever, probably not.
Live a little better with fewer aches and pains?
Sounds good.

My understanding is that cell division is programmed in to only happen so many times and when the last batch wears out you die. SO perhaps we are not looking at an eternal life pill, but an lifelong youth pill.

I would choose to take the pill only until I was healthy and then I would die a natural death and be with my Lord.

FOREVER?
Hell no.
Who wants to be around for the heat-death of the universe????
When black holes are winking out in the Hawkings events????
Floating in space forever, with no light or stars or planets any more?

Absolutely not! Going once around the (Un) Merry-Go-Round financially “treading water” will be quite enough, thank you.
I would like to reverse certain conditions though, such as arthritis.

rofl!!
Is everyone else’s life that much better than mine that they want to live HERE forever?
I’m 48 and though i enjoy things, my heart is heavy from different events in life already.
Why would I want to carry that for 200 years or so?
I’ve been close to death. In ICU with a head injury.
It’s not scary at all. you are really at peace and feel like it’s so natural.
My aunts were discussing funeral homes.
Then I lived :)

Yes, I choose to live forever. Not in this frail mortal body, but in my new body like that of the risen Christ. No pill can do that.

Forever, no.
Long enough to see the Left crushed, yes...So my Country and my grandchildren would be safe, and I’d know it.
That would be long enough for me.

Who wants to be around for the heat-death of the universe???? Wasn't that the plot in Flashforward? The book, not the TV series.
