When it is simple, everyone understands.

But ... you peasants are not as smart as us ... it is not that simple; this is complex.

Only we are smart enough.

The complex bill is fill of Govt control and power.

The simple bill is easy for the citizens to tell if the congressmen are lying, and easy to hold them accountable.

Pretty much the same for all congressional bills, too.

Why did we need to fix a rainbow unicorn to begin with?
And why are we now fixing what somebody else was trying to fix? Why are we installing a different color unicorn?
Why do we need this unicorn?
What was the problem to being with? Was there a problem? It wasn’t broken so what was there to fix? And why is the government overlord getting involved?
Where they really interested in fixing anything? Or was it really just an unicorn for controlling the peasants? There was never a regard to human health in those 2000+ pages. The peasants were just no different from pigs in a farm - not worth saving.

It's funny. This was easy when Obama was in office. 60 or so bills to do what they are struggling to do today.

Funny how things change when there's a chance you may be hung with the consequences where before there was a snowballs chance it would pass.

The hard part is paying for all the bribes they took from the parties interested in the replacement.

He, and they, was elected in large part to repeal Obamacare. Not to replace it, just to repeal it.

The Left’s tactic is defining the narrative as requiring a replacement, and absolutely ANY replacement will be reviled & attacked as proof of Right-wing incompetence. We’ll never hear the end of it until the Left is back in power and hammered the GOP in to oblivion.

We, the MAGA voters, don’t want a replacement. We want full repeal of ACA, full stop.

Don’t let the Left and Center goad us into a replacement just so the Left can beat us up with it. Repeal ACA, end the prohibition on interstate commerce in health coverage (insanely stupid that’s in place), fix medical tort law, address “preexisting conditions” so insurers can’t drop someone so easily, and encourage the market to develop plan options to cover all needs.

Why would Republicans want to repeal Obamacare when it was an idea hatched by a conservative think tank?

Why would Republicans want to repeal Obamacare and risk losing lobbyist cash and control over an ever growing and powerful bureaucracy?

Why would Republicans want to repeal Obamacare and risk losing votes of the entitled takers who now outnumber the makers?

This is demonstrative that Speaker Ryan has no real ideas, except those borrowed from the GOP chair.

Speaker Ryan is, and has never been, a real get things done person, except when he is out hunting ... or was for show, too?

He has demonstrated that “government is not the problem, nor the solution, but the status quo”.

RE:”You know, this really isn’t that hard.”

Yes it is obviously.

The last House Speaker hit the nail on the head:
Republicans never have and still don't agree on health care.
It was easy when they didn't feel pressured to pass something.(favorite option =do nothing)

Furthermore, Trump promised the 'replace' will cover every one, even (pay for) those who cant afford to pay for it themselves.

Add it all up and there is no solution.

The GOP is trying to put in place a massive entitlement program without funding it.

They need to repeal Obamacare and then try to fix some problems in the insurance industry by free market solutions.

I think Trump is giving Ryan the rope to hang himself.

The hardest part of the replace side of the measure is to moderate and reconcile the big money interests involved: the health care insurers; hospitals; medical equipment suppliers;state governments; doctors; and drug companies. They all have sweetheart deals in Obamacare and want the same or better when it is replaced -- and they all have advocates in the GOP caucus.

The finances of the system cannot work if the replacement has the pre-existing conditions and coverage on parents until 26 and elaborate pregnancy benefits—and conbine it with a voluntary enrollement by folks who decide they want coverage.

Ask any insurance salesman who has sold health insurance. You have to really SELL health insurance to healthy people. You have to virtually call up the image of the ambulance roaring up to take the partent or child to the hospital. Individual policies never make money for an insurer and have the lowest rate of maintained coverage of any form of insurance.

The only people who seek out an agent for health insurance already know they have some kind of medical condition or want pregnancy coverage. This is why policies have rational exclusions against pre-existing conditions or pregnancy that where birth occurs within 9 months of the inception of the policy. Folks think they can get away with lying but seldom do so because they always have doctor’s records that document the previous treatmens.
