What he said is "settled law", and that was only in response to a question from a Dhimmicrap senator. At one time, Dred Scott was settled law. At one time, Plessy v. Ferguson was settled law. They they weren't.
Judge Gorsuch is the son of a Reagan administration official. He has a judicial record that is conservative and constitutionalist, within the boundaries set by the fact that he is a lower court judge.
He'll be a better justice than Roberts could ever be.
My experience on FR has taught me whenever someone vouches for so-and-so questionable nominee and swears up and down that the person will be Mr. Conservative and we will love him, that FReeper is nowhere to be seen when its a year later and the rest of us are stuck with their lousy record.
You should have seen all the "I've known him PERSONALLY for years and Mel Martinez is an anti-amnesty Tea Party savior and anyone who dares doubt that FACT is just flat out racist against latinos" crowd who demonized me for months and then convinently went AWOL on FreeRepublic when Martinez broke his "no amnesty" campaign pledge.
The reverse is also true, by the way. Scores of FReepers demonized Pat Roberts during the primary campaign and swore up and down that he would morph into Arlen Specter after being re-elected even though his record was 99% conservative. I told them I'd hold them to that and I did, but now that he's remained rock solid on conservative principles, they're nowhere to be found. Not one is willing to man up, admit they were wrong, and apologize for smearing this excellent Senator as a RINO.
So I'd bookmark this one to say "I told you so" in 2018, but I know you'll run and hide if you have to held accountable for all this Gorsuch=Scalia 2.0 propaganda.
