That’s a good question. How tight a rein on the director of the FBI does the AG have, generally speaking?

No, Jeff Sessions made a huge strategic error in recusing himself from any investigations pertaining to the 2016 Trump campaign, the general election and alleged Russian influence. Therefore, his second in command at the Justice Dept., an Obama holdover, gave the green light to Comey to announce today that the FBI was investigating the Trump/Russia connection since last July.

Sessions, an otherwise smart, good man, really screwed up in abdicating any control over the Dems in their “the Russians gave Trump the election” faux meme. That was a terrible error in judgment on Sessions’ part. You can’t fight Libs with one hand tied behind your back. Sessions may have been morally right to do so, but the Dems are not moral; they are dirty fighters and we better learn how to stoop to their level when necessary, and play hardball, or we will be like the Christians fed to the lions.
