You should read Genesis 1, 5 and 11 for yourself. You can decide what to believe, but the Genesis timelin of human history from Adam to Abraham is plain, and does not need Ushers chronology. determine the time of Abraham, and you get the Genesis age, about 6000 years ago.
Other religious people will tell you the earth is 5.4 billion years old. Some religious fanatics pointed a telescope at the sky and turned over some rocks and they told them so.....

I suppose it all depends on your definition of "many."
In context, even 1% of all Christians, in my universe, would not qualify as "many." Even though it is not a small number, it is a minuscule percentage.
