Saturday Night Live made media headlines last night after their flagrant attack on First Daughter, Ivanka Trump. Scarlett Johansson starred as Ivanka, while the narrator slammed her as “complicit” in the perceived wrongdoings of her father. “She’s a woman who knows what she wants and knows what she’s doing.” The ad continued by making satirical, sarcastic remarks about Ivanka being a feminist and a champion for women before ending with Johansson running out of a gold door. The skit was in very poor taste, lacking class and humor. It reeked of liberals who resent powerful, strong women, which is an oddity. (Not really!) Are liberals not the very group of people who parade themselves as advocates for women?

There will be a backlash. It is yet to be seen how Scarlett will react when her kid is ridiculed and attacked.
Funny thing is that Ivanka. while gorgeous and I like her, is actually not very much conservative all.

I haven’t watched SNL since Joe Piscopo and Eddie Murphy.
I thought SNL was funny in 1977. I thank the good Lord that my weekends are more enjoyable so that I haven’t had to waste a minute watching that show since the 70’s.

You are about right. The 70’s was the last time SNL was funny.
I saw clips of the show on Youtube, besides making fun of Ivanka, Johanssen did a skit where she flat out called Trump racist. Once again the R word without a single solitary shred of evidence. Maybe people should start calling Johanssen a crack head whore because apparently when it comes to the left, you can tag people as anything without a shred of evidence.
Has been a lousy show for decades even without the politics.

I think they jumped the shark several years ago when they did a disgusting skit on Karen Carpenter who was anorexic. Can’t remember if it was before or after she died.
The last time I watch Saturday Night Live was When Donald Trump was on the program. I hadn’t watched it prior to that in well over a decade and I don’t plan to start watching it

You got that right. SNL was pretty good when Phil Hartman, Chris Farley, and Adam Sandler were on. Of course, that was over 20 years ago.

We don’t watch anymore. But I did see (posted on FR) a skit from last Saturday, where Scarlett’s dog was a Trump supporter. It was pretty funny (and they didn’t have to throw in the vulgarity, but the rest was funny). I suspect they had to make it up to the snowflakes and put in a disgusting skit about Ivanka. They are just soooo jealous of her, they simply cannot help themselves.
I despised the show back in the 70s.
