Despite the way it's being portrayed
You’ve probably seen headlines over the course of the past day claiming that George W. Bush went on The Today Show yesterday and slammed President Trump.
He didn’t.
but the people that have been screaming "FAKE NEWS!!!!" with every other breath since november 20 were perfectly willing to swallow this one whole.
Confirmation Bias rears its ugly head. They would have believed it about Ted Cruz too.

However, he did slam Trump during an interview with People Magazine. And he played along with the Russia/Trump campaign gambit here as well as giving an indirect slam at Trump's travel ban.
And I think what has people really pissed off is that he did not criticize Obama for eight years, but bashes Trump five weeks in.
Nice try at deflecting, tho.
This is all well and good, but Bush needs to start being more precise in his statements so that his words cannot be misconstrued. To me he is walking a fine line and he never offers rebuttal of what the press reports. Thus he is not completely innocent in my eyes.
I personally don’t pay a lot of attention to anything that GWB has to say. I have seen underneath his mask.

George W Bush has almost zero credibility among conservatives. That's his fault, not ours. It was all too easy to accept that he's come out of his shell to bash a real conservative president.
I think he’s into negative numbers.
No what really happened what the Bushies did some polls yesterday, and found out what W said was not very popular.
Furthermore, W was silent over the last 8 years under Obama, and now he comes out and attacks President Trump just barely a month in office.
Case in point,

Not speaking clearly or forcefully enough to allow the fake media to manipulate your words or have “double meanings” is a sign of either a weak politician, or deliberate attempt to obfuscate.
I will only say he was silent for the entire Obama terms.
In Bush's case both are true.

The questions were loaded, and GWB answered like a politician. The purpose of the interview (from his perspective) was to sell his book, so he gave weaselly answers to try and please everyone and not alienate potential customers. I would prefer he put country ahead of his own financial gain.
Truth is......GWB should have stayed true to his position, which was not getting involved with Presidential politics. He alluded to this every time he was asked a question about Obama, his standard answer was “I don’t want to second guess a sitting POTUS”. (Paraphrased)
If he had replied in this manner regarding Trump, he would have been “misquoted”, thus there wouldn’t be this problem. But he DID second guess President Trump.
Not only that, but I heard some audio that, unless “edited”, seemed to be him quite explicitly taking the MSMs side and against Trump. Now you CAN make that argument, or you could, if they were honest in their investigative zeal, but if you don’t object during the 8-year press lubing of Ebola (and his thin-skinned acting like he was abused even then), you DEFINITELY don’t get to complain now. If they’ve managed to convincingly misrepresent what he said, I extend him an apology, but I doubt it.
President Trump has been in office 1 month.
And now W chimes in after 8 years of silence under Obama.
