OC Fairgrounds will shut down for March weekend amid concerns over pro-Trump rally

COSTA MESA The OC Fair & Event Center will close the weekend of March 25-26, canceling several events, over concerns about a planned pro-President Donald Trump rally and counter protest near the property, fair officials said Thursday.

The Make America Great Again Nationwide March is scheduled for noon to 3 p.m. March 25 near Fair Drive and Fairview Road, according to a Southern California MAGA March Facebook page.

“We are marching for our President, Vice President, Military, and First Responders,” the MAGA March Facebook page states. “We are the silent majority and we are ready for a real change.”

I attended the Trump rally there, last April.

It was my attendance that locked my full support in for Trump. Everything said about him by the media and by his opponents was proved to be false.

For example,, his supporters were much younger, much more diverse, and more female, than the false claims.

All of the violence and property damage was done by demonstrators, probably at the instigation of a few La Raza teachers and professors in local schools, DNC etc.

“There were three generations of female Americans of Hispanic heritage sitting next to me, two generations of female Americans of African heritage in front of me, and four young Americans of Chinese heritage behind me.”

I went to see the movement for myself. I had the time, and the interest.

I was the stereotypical old white guy. But I waited in line with a pair of college students, that dove down from Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.

Once inside I was seated next to an Hispanic couple from Downey. The guy was also chatting with his ex-wife a couple of rows over (also Hispanic).

Afterwards, I learned that my sister-in-law was there, too. Two of her three OC born children married Hispanics, so most of her grandchildren are part Hispanic.

While waiting in line before we got in, the demonstrator marched right up to our line, and the mounted OC Sheriffs kept us separated from them. They had a front-to-back Mexican and American flag.

I got away fast when the event was over, owing to parking near the exit, being alone to move fast. So I did not see the horrible, violent situation caused entirely by the demonstrators.

Saw and heard about rocks thrown at cars on the 55 Freeway, by people unconnected with the Trump rally.

Got home, and decided that night, the media and Trumps opponents, Republican and Democrat ALIKE were telling lies.

And I became a strong supporter. And remain so.

People that knw me also know I am no cultist, no groupie. Not a follower, at all. Just a guy who wants the best for my country, like I did when I served it in uniform.
