The feds picked up 100% for the first three or four years of the expansion and then funded at 90% thereafter. How much more funding do you want? That's a lot higher than the rest of Medicaid.

That 10% that you just mentioned that kicked in later is EXACTLY why many states didn’t want in.
Medicaid is a federal program and should be paid entirely with federal dollars. The states should have zero to do with it. Medicaid needs to be completely reworked as the federal program that it is. The states shouldn’t pay a dime towards it.
So in summation: repeal Obamacare, expand Medicaid and completely federalize it’s funding, grandfather those who have been paying their premiums and continue to do so.
Problem solved.

States run it because it's assumed they know the needs of their people. Take the states out and all you have is another monolithic federal entitlement.

We elected them to do several things...repealing Ocare was pretty high on the list, too.
Dear Congress, stop screwing around...it only takes a one sentence bill....and you have copies of it from last session (when you were posturing that you wanted to repeal Ocare, now we see that was just a BS political lie, right? Dust off one of those one-sentence repeal bills and PASS IT now! It will do wonders for your crediblity with your voters.)

Health insurers do not ask about profession unless it is a group plan. We did not get into fags or lesbians either. Urine drug tests,add health records plus a CBC do provide much. Obesity is very dangerous to ones health. I told you I could not insure that young lady. Even had she been 208 lbs or just under the weight limit she would have been given a B rating which was a 50% premium increase. Obesity is common place in America now. I would not want to command a US rifle company these days.
Agree. I believe Trump won because most are tired of those in DC to include their Senators and basic Congress critters.
I have no idea how this would change in a GOP plan. If the IRS isn't requiring anyone to submit the tax forms for Obamacare anymore, then I'm not sure how the IRS would know anything about your medical records.

That's exactly what it is -- skewing the risk pool by flooding it with younger people who rarely have any medical claims. The whole point of that measure was to reduce insurance premiums for older adults.

When you repeal it, it IS replaced, by definition. When you sell your car, it is replaced by whatever options you have left now that you don’t have it. e.g. driving your other car, your bicycle, walking, etc.

As I said before the election, if the only thing Trump does as president is repeal Obamacare, I’ll be good... And to take it a step further, all I really care about is repealing the mandates. It will then collapse on its own. Which, actually, is what it is already doing anyway.
For the top two thirds of Americans you are mostly right. Our old insurance system worked just fine for most of us.
The problem is that none of us are willing to allow young people and children to die in hospital parking lots or on Americas streets. It's not our way.
So people bleeding to death from a car accident are treated. Children with pneumonia - whose parents don't have health insurance - are treated and saved. You wouldn't have it any other way. Either would I... and that's the rub. We get taken because we're unwilling to see we're PAYING FOR THAT CARE NOW. We want to pretend we're NOT paying for these folks now... but we are. And we're providing massively expensive and horrible care for those who can't afford health insurance. ...
That's got to stop.
When a poor person uses the local hospital emergency room for a bad case of the sniffles or a sprained ankle, YOU and I get charged thousands of dollars in hospital tax write-offs etc. One visit to an Emergency room can cost in the thousands. The same care in a doctor's office for those of us who are middle class might cost a hundred bucks - and with our insurance - maybe $20 or maybe nothing. YOU'RE paying top dollar for that ER Room Care for the poor person with the sniffles - and so am I. And that's why we can't just 'repeal'.
Replacing ObamaCare for the top third of Americans is easy. Repeal it. For the next third - a hybrid... and for the bottom third an updated medical system that utilizes technology for diagnosis and treatment. It'll be cheaper AND better. And it replaces the Emergency room tax write off boondoggle...
Trump could enlist Bill Gates to create and put in place the system... better, cheaper, and ahead of schedule. And offer Gates the opportunity to 'give' the system to any poor countries he wants to give it to...

BTW, my wife and I are 63. We have no health care insurance. We pray every day that the Great Physician (The Lord) keeps us healthy until we die. He is faithful.

Everyone I know who has the "F" plan has not paid one dime in doctor or hospital care since they got it. For some people that's been YEARS. The "F" Plan has no deductibles, no co-pays, no nothing. You can pick any doctor you want and there are no referrals needed. It costs about $190 a month...
Here's the catch: You have to buy it within three months of turning 65. Any time after than and they can ask for medical tests - or just flat out refuse you for any reason. The other 'catch' is insurance companies MUST meet all the requirement for a Plan F (Medigap Plan F) to offer it ... BUT EACH COMPANY CAN CHARGE DIFFERENT AMOUNTS FOR THE EXACT SAME PLAN.
CALL AROUND FOR THE BEST PRICE.
THE PRICE VARIED WILDLY AMONG COMPANIES... BY OVER $60 A MONTH. Go with the cheapest company because THE LAW requires all companies to carry the same minimum... it must be the same plan... also go with the plan that only goes up in price if the whole group goes up ...NOT the plan that goes up in price as you age.
As far as emergency rooms are concerned they charge a fortune because when people don't pay they can write it off their taxes. In short - we the taxpayers basically get screwed...
