As a Brit, it has often baffled me as to the direction that gun control is heading in the U.S. Britain and many other nations have firsthand experience of what happens when stringent gun control laws are brought in: Gun murders rise sharply.

Big government cannot oppress citizens who can shoot back.
The gun haters attempt to make the simplistic cause - effect link that more guns = more crime.
The problem is that the facts do not back up their claims. They have to torture the data to get there.
It sounds plausible, at first blush, if you want to see simplistic, materialistic reasons for complex cultural, societal, and political problems.
But it is simply not true.
The Second Amendment is not - and never was - about duck hunting.
The real fact that impresses me most is that in
Federalist #46 James Madison boasts that American
citizens possess guns and if the Europeans were allowed
to also own guns they would free themselves from
their tyrannical oppressors.
My unalienable rights are not subject to negotiation. Period. The government does not deserve nor does it require a monopoly on violence. Period. Molon labe.
Homicide rates ACTUALLY, rather than implicating that they went UP (the were already going up in the U.K. before the ban) after guns were banned, show THEY DID NOT DECLINE after a gun ban. What it shows is that guns were neither the cause nor was banning then the solution.
Murder is social-psychological and not caused by nor dependent on the existence of certain weapons.
What do the progs want to do to us once we are disarmed that they can’t do to us while we are still armed? Clearly, the progs have plans for us if we are disarmed.

Lol, there is no mystery or wonder to why Democrats want the population disarmed. Even as early as Aristotle, that wisdom was known:

England, Ireland and Jamaica don’t have a 2nd Amendment.
