FYI about 1/2 of the TSA employees are ex-military, retired police and fire dept, and corrections.
No way - I fly 80+ times a year. Most are too young to be retired. the majority are way too dumb to be retired Police or Fire Department employees.
None of which guarantees intelligence, common sense or people skills. In fact, I would say having those qualities would tend to steer one away from the drudgery and oppressive environment of the TSA.
