McConnell: Trump Agenda Like What Presidents Romney, Rubio or Jeb Would Have Done
PJ Media ^ | 2-17-2017 | Bridget Johnson

WASHINGTON -- Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) told reporters on Capitol Hill today that he's "been pretty candid" with President Trump "and with all of you that I'm not a great fan of daily tweets."

"What I am a fan of is what he's been actually doing," he added. "As I look at what we might have expected from a President Mitt Romney or a President Marco Rubio or a President Jeb Bush at the beginning of their tenures in office, I can't see much difference between what President Trump is doing and what they would have done."

He can't see the different agenda set by Trump, comparing to a Jebbie or a Willard one.

'Nuff said, Mitch Turtle is so embarrassing........

Jeb would have accomplished NOTHING. He could not have taken the protests from his fellow liberals.

I disagree, but if he is willing to say that then he no longer has a reason to obstruct it.

Mitch thinks he is a concensus builder. In that role, he is trying to get on board those who are not enthusiastic about Trump. The way Mitch plays the game, he is being a good Trump team member.

That the facts are different, that Trump is not neo-con and that Trump is not free-trade/free-immigration are irrelevant in the way Mitch tries to build a concensus for Trump.

"I can't see much difference between what President Trump is doing and what they would have done."

He can really see something that isn't there, hasn't ever been there and never actually will be.

Is he currently receiving treatment for this?

There is one really, really BIG difference - Donald J. Trump expects to get HIS agenda enacted, while Romney, Rubio or Jeb Bush would have presented an agenda which LOOKED similar, then traded it away for “comfortable” relations with the fakestream media and “comity” with the Democrat minority.

He is not speaking to us, but to the never trumpers. Truth is, no one else could get it done, e en if they had the exact same platform.

He’s trying to soften the view of the agenda in the public’s eye. McConnell is (probably) smart enough to know that Trump is seriously different than all of them. All 3 would have caved on the immigration deal already, been on Univision talking about hope and acts of love etc. You can take Rubio, Jeb, and Mitten’s backbones and put them together and might have half of Trump’s.

The difference is they were politicians. By definition they are placeholders who shake in fear of democraps and get nothing done. Trump has already accomplished more in less than one month than Jeb would have done in four years. Mitch needs to keep up with Trump or get out of the way.
