Umm, what part of "high crimes and misdemeanors" don't you get?

Also, good luck getting the Senate to convict without charges.

I hear what you are saying. All their actions up to this point have been outrageous and not realistic, and yet they did it anyway.

It’s almost as if they have a progressive checklist, and are going through each step as they move toward their last and most severe “option”.

Jonty30 is correct.

“High crimes and misdemeanors” are what the House charges and the Senate tries. They are not crimes an official must have been charged with prior to impeachment.
