I was shocked in the Malher trial to find that many category of misdemeanors do not permit trial by jury, but are limited to trial by judge.

Any crime where you can go to jail should, in my opinion, be subject to jury trial.

In the Malher case the Judge is completely against the protesters. In the first trial, all defendants were found not guilty of all charges. That's a shutout of the State, and in a fair minded system they would have dropped charges against the second set of defendants. Instead, they charged them with a bunch of misdemeanors that the biased judge will convict them of, even if the jury again finds them not-guilty. The State *will* have it's pound of flesh.

Unbelievable! I never thought he’d lose.

Here in Southern Oregon most folks, pols and media are pretty pro-gun, but up North it’s like the Kremlin on the Willamette!

Awful...I hope he appeals it.
