There is an aristocracy now that pervades American politics. Its got to be broken somehow in both parties . . . I agree. Name recognition from relatives is a huge advantage in the primaries, and it should not be. While it would be nice to judge the next Kennedy/Clinton/Bush/Trump on their own merits, that is not what actually happens. I'd rather blacklist all those hanging onto the family name, rather that see another Hillary/Jeb/Teddy run for office and win because of their better known relative. As for the Trump name, I'm satisfied with him so far, but that's not enough. I don't want President Eric or even President Ivanka eight years from now. Let's start choosing based on merit.

Well, Evan Bayh lost his race. That's a start. Second Generations of Cuomo, Casey Jr. and Udall ought to be retired. But do we do with Duncan Hunter Jr. or Rand Paul?
