On the larger issue of the travel ban, our friend Charles Krauthammer of The Washington Post I think put it pretty well. I’m not sure it’s illegal, but it’s extremely stupid.
I’m a little uncomfortable with the idea of judges overruling presidents on national security matters. Nonetheless, so whether it’s unconstitutional or not, I leave to others. But it certainly has sucked the wind out of two or three weeks of this administration for no good reason.
There has never been evidence that people from these countries are disproportionately likely to commit terrorist acts. We have sent chaos to the airports. We have offended the world. We have derailed the administration. We have done it in such an incompetent way, the administration has, that people with perfectly legal residence have been widely inconvenienced.
And so it’s just been a screw-up from beginning to end, and so it’s just been a running derailment...

There is world view. And Donald Trump’s world view is that it’s a dangerous, miserable place, people are out to get him, and he needs to strike them first. That’s been the world view from the beginning. And it’s the world view.

Brooks is your ultimate self-appointed enemy. That is all you need to know. What he thinks he knows about the world’s opinion is zero. What it matters, is zero. He’s appointed himself the warhead of the anti-Trump effort and is actively working on getting massive funding for working on and doing same. If you had, say, a strep infection, most people would be seeking antibiotic treatment to kill it. That would be the sensible move. What would make zero sense would be to seek out the opinion of the streptococcus infection as to how great a person you are. Listening to him is doing exactly that.
Yeah, in the same way that Vidkun Quisling was considered the Nazi's Norwegian.
I never thought about his political persuasion much because most of the Sunday morning programs slant way Left. I just assumed the way he talked, that he was a liberal.
That was until one of the hosts of a show he was a panelist on one morning, introduced him as a conservative columnist from the NYTimes.
I about sh*t a brick. This guy is not even close to conservative. He doesn't even talk the talk, let alone walk the walk. He's as liberal as they come.

Mr Brooks you need to get out more. We may have offended the perpetually offended class but if you take a look around the world you see more and more Nations issuing travel bans closing their borders ans limiting immigrants and refugees.
Yeah? Really? The whole world?
Well, guess what? So did Christ. He “offended” the whole world as well.
I don’t care about the “world” and I certainly don’t care what this dish_t thinks or says. I care about keeping America and the American People safe.
Why is David Brooks talking when there are other gay men who have dry testicles?
The “world” which Pres. Trump is accused of offending seems to consist mainly of United Nations & EU bureaucrats, and enraged Muslims demanding open borders.
Both make for great target practice if caught over here.
Mr. Brooks, darling, there have been 72 terrorist plots by people admitted to the U.S. From these 7 countries. One is too many sweetie. Perhaps you are in the wrong “profession”. You may have a future as a fashion critic.

Mr. Brooks idea of extreme vetting is looking for a crisp crease on somebody’s Pants, or Burka.
Quite frankly, most of the world is FUBAR and offends me and my country., America.
I feel offended by Brooks’ parent for giving him life.
He is about to gain entry onto my very exclusive ‘loathsome creature’ list.
I think he may have submitted “...it’s wrong for the media to report on the FLOTUS throwing ash trays at the POTUS”, and it somehow ended up being “...it’s wrong for the FLOTUS (HRC) to be throwing ash trays at the POTUS (WJC)”, and voila!: Instant “conservative” credentials.
Why would anyone in Australia or Japan or England or Israel have cared? (Well maybe some people in Australia, England or Israel, but most not; and none in Japan.)

I understand.
I watch Amy Goodman and “Democracy Now”. She gives her guests 15 or 20 minutes to spell out their side of the issues.
So I can watch exactly what Cornel West, for example, says and believes (as opposed to a 5-second blip from the Drive-Bys). She produces extended video of events like the pipeline protest.
This gives me good background of the ‘other’ side.
And I yell and object, etc., then laugh, then get on with the day.
Suggesting Brooks travel to Syria and apologize to ISIS for this transgression.
