Ahhhh. getting old. How wonderful!
One knows when one is “older” when, within 10 minutes of getting together with same age friends and relatives, someone starts talking about their latest medical problem/procedure.
I’ve had arthritis since I was a kid. I was born with deformities in the joints, and the damage evolved into something still permanent.
I’ve had family members and friends go down dark paths with pain management, so I had to blaze my own path from an early age. Doctors simply wouldn’t give a 15 year old kid pain killers.
So a lot of therapy during my teenage years, but in my 20s I attended many different pain management programs and classes. Meditation, movement, yoga (where possible, my body isn’t quite flexible) even martial arts.
To this day I take nothing for pain. I walk with a cane since I was 32 but even that isn’t all the time. My hips simply lock up and I can’t physically move me joints to hyperextend.
It sucks, but getting old hasn’t made things better or worse. I’m 40 now.
I have arthritis in my right hip along with some degeneration. Getting close to bone on bone, but not yet. The first shot I got took about 4-5 days to start working. It did wonders. Lasted about four months. Doc said future injections should last longer. He was right. Now they last 9 months or so.
One word of caution, if you have diabetes, your blood sugars will jump for 3-4 days. Not a big deal, just need to plan for it.

I haven’t tried fresh turmeric yet. Grow pineapples in my garden and love fresh beets which I eat often, but never put them all together. I cant’ eat cucumbers, unfortunately. They just don’t like me. Your mixture Sounds effective though.

You can only get them two or three times a year but they offer great relief! I have gotten them several times over many years and not had any side effects.
If you eat right, don’t drink or smoke and get plenty of rest and exercise you’ll get eight more years in an old folks home.
You don't know how many times I've said that when chatting with friends these days.
Can't talk about the kids and grandkids until we get our aches and pains discussed.

Avoid the cortisone shots if there is another way. Not everyone reacts well to them and they are temporary.
Celadrin and glucosamine should be tried first. Celadrin is helping my shoulder right now. Dr. gave my brother some oral medicine for his arthritic shoulder and he got no relief but all the bad side affects.
Been there done that. I love my two knee replacements by the way.
How is it on the tummy?
I saw another FReeper say it caused him some bowel issues. I already have IBS, so I’ve had to alter my eating dramatically.
Used to have a huge garden, but too much tears me up.
Used to eat 2-3 tomatoes a day during season, but last year could only handle 1-2 a week
I think 6-8 weeks. We’ll see.
Looks as though there are a few older folks in here. This is for everybody especially those who pray. I desire your prayers that I will be more forgiving and less Judgmental. God requires this of us and I pray daily for it but I honestly believe The Democrat Party is Evil and I say it a lot. I also have malice in my heart for some of these folks. I admit I am sinning and I ask for your prayers.
Fresh turmeric turns the juicer and counter yellow, so be aware of that. Grow your own pineapples...wow.
I've used "cortisone reaction" for a long time, as an excuse for some of the dumb stuff(according to my wife) I've done.
You might try DMSO.
