I have the turkey choke on one shotgun. Big handicap for normal range duck hunting. I was on a small hill and flushed some ducks from a pond a long way below. I saw the pattern hit the water next to where the duck was flying and it was still very tight. Think I might get a variable screw in choke. I know they do not have as well formed pattern as set chokes but the flexibility will make up for that. I have used them before.

I like the screw in chokes for the 870 pump. Turkey extra full for... turkeys, rifled tube keeps slugs on a paper plate at 80-100 yards, full for long birds and modified for clays and closer game. Endless different loads add to the versatility.

It would make a good “only gun”.
