Shinzo Abe’s dad, Shintaro Abe, was PM during the Reagan years. It wouldn’t surprise me if Shinzo sees Reagan in Trump, along with a Reaganesque economic renaissance coming in the late 2010s, and his zaibatsu supporters want in on it.
Posted too fast :-( Shintaro Abe was foreign minister, which in Japan is the de facto vice-prime-minister, under Nakasone in the Reagan years. I’m sure Shinzo saw what was happening in the US during that time, and probably met Reagan a few times with his dad, so he must see what is coming here as America is made great again.
