Spot on, that infamous OODA Loop. This is what happens when your opponent is two turns ahead of you. It isn't pretty.
There is another cycle President Trump (God, I love typing that) is inside, and that is the news cycle. It becomes very difficult for ad-hoc cabals such as Journ-O-List to coordinate a response when they're two stories behind the media cycle. If they seem confused and outraged at the moment, it's at that very unfamiliar feeling of no longer having the initiative.
It's a little exhausting for the rest of us as well, but it sure is fun, this "winning" thing. We should have tried it years ago.
