Are you sure you aren't talking about Mark Livin?

He still is ragging on Trump.

Yeah, not sure what is up with him. I think it is more a human personality issue. How we, as humans, when we think we are right, but then are wrong or defeated (he so wante Cruz), how do we act?he and Glen Beck are the same. I used to love both and now can’t even listen to either.

As for the book, it is refreshing and has our own politics playing out on that colony world of Earth in the future. Lots of cultural references that will bug you out. Some hidden meanings that only conservatives will get as well.

I saw the maps, but they were pretty crudely drawn, so I didn't post them. But I will now. I also noticed that there were continents named Breitbart and Drudge and that Robinson Island had cities named Freeper Heights and Jim City.

The world in the book is a medievel society, and the maps were said to have been hand copied for generations. The one of East greenland is more interesting. it was posted before but I don’t know how.

Yes, thank you. That’s the one with the lots of names we all know on it. Notice the tiny area of what was left of Kas Commune, beaten by other forces on the continent.

In the book, the Allfathers are genetically altered to no longer age, and they are on a colony world and name mountains, continents, cities etc as civilization progresses. Bill Gates has the main continent called Gates, and briefly changed to Brookler. There’s a nation called The Shire in Nusia (New Asia) with a capital city called Gandolf. So many easter eggs all through the novels and insights too.

Call me stupid but I had no idea that we used to have a thing called first sleep and second sleep? Anyone know this - before electricity and before candles became inexpensive - it seems we humans would go to bed early, at like 8 or so then get up at 2 or 3, stay up for an hour or two then go back to bed. Literature tells of how the best sex was before ‘second sleep’. In the Allfather Saga there are lots of little tidbits like this explained. It’s just an awesome book series. If they make it into a movie it would smash records.

Oh, no. Mark has been on the rag about Trump forever and still is. Rush was negative. The final straw for many of us here is when a very intelligent woman caller was extremely enthusiastic about Trump and Rush hung up on her. Maybe I can find the thread when I get some time.

No, he played it canny, as always.

Limbaugh is a Bushie GOPe Establishment guy through and through. But he doesn’t want to alienate his audience, and, to be fair, he still has some sincere conservative instincts, when it suits his larger purpose.

He slyly mocked Trump and Trump followers (like me) early and often: He gave us disparaging nicknames, and would lead on impassioned Trump callers to make them look fanatical and irrational.

When the winds shifted enough to show that we were actually going to win, he tried to make it seem more genuine (while maintaining his air of above-it-all neutrality).

Limbaugh is clever. I distinctly recall him eulogizing NAFTA in the mid 90s, which infuriated me; he implied that anyone who opposed NAFTA was a loony leftist. Now? He is not nearly so candid about what he thought and said then. He has rewritten his history. (I have actually done online searches to verify my memory, since he and others have engaged in revisionist history.)

In summary, no, he was not, not, not a Trump supporter out of the gate; he was a Cruz (establishment globalist) guy - and a Rubio (another establishment globalist) guy.

Nobodies like me were on the Trump Train from Day One; Somebodies like Ann Coulter were on the Trump Train from Day One. Limbaugh was standing to the side, amused by it, and amusing others with it.

Yep. I heard that call.

Remember, it was Limbaugh who helped start the whole fad of making up disparaging names for Trump supporters. It was Limbaugh who harped on how we Trump supporters would follow him no matter what he said or did (implying that we were thoughtless fanatics rather like the Obama followers in 2008), and would then bait callers to prove that point.

Rush really infuriated me during that time.

That was his way of covertly supporting Cruz and Rubio (and the Establishment).

The only reason I was not demoralized as well as infuriated was that I took my measure of Limbaugh back in the Clinton years, when he supported any and every GOPe thing, especially NAFTA.

Yes, lots of fun Easter Eggs. Here are ones from East Greenland (which looks like an elephant, facing east):
Obama (Volcanic Hell Island – no one lives there)
Ron Paul City
Trump (city?)
Geller Regency (looks…fetal)
Bozell
Limbaugh Alliance
Hannity
Allen West

And from the first posted map:
Breitbart
Milo City
Drudge
Tyrion (cuz gotta have a GOT reference)
Asimov (it is SiFi afterall)
Shawshank (redemption?)
Robinson Island
Jim City
Freeper Heights
Hoft Island

And many many more. Maybe I’ll buy the books.

Well written post Yogi. I read once somewhere that Rush was in with the globalist outfit, CFR. I’m not sure if that is true or not, but it would not surprise me.

Why do you put Rush in with them? I never heard him say a disparraging word against Trump. I didn’t listen to him every day, but when I did I got the gist that he was a Trump supporter out of the gate.

Rush was a thinly veiled anti-Trumper throughout the primary, and only marginally came around after Trump won the nomination.

As one of the smoothest talkers in the business, he managed to fool a lot of listeners into thinking he was fair and non-committal across the board, but he strongly favored Cruz or Rubio over Trump.

A casual listener may not have picked that up, but those of us who've listened to him for decades, heard it clearly.

It was a perfect storm, a coalition of conservatives, independents and libertarians, ranging from Drudge and Breitbart, to Free Republic and a constellation of anti-Hellary sites and commentators. Even nutbag Alex Jones and crew contributed. And me and my ‘widows mite’. We ALL played our part to bring this about. The old adage, Success has a thousand fathers, was never more true than the Election of ‘16.

I forgot to mention the role that Her Heinous also played in this coalition. We were really struggling to define ourselves, using words like Trumpettes, Trumpsters, etc. Nothing seemed to fit.

Then Mrs. Bill Clinton decided to call us Deplorables. Within a week, it was adopted throughout the coalition, and we never looked back from there.
