You can even see how it ruined NHL hockey, as a number of years back, the same sort of twits would go on about how stupid players like Guy Lafleur or Al Secord or Rod Langway or Bobby Clarke and numerous other veteran players were for not wearing helmets. Nowadays, the game is filled with stickwork and blindsiding and cheapshot offences a great deal because the headgear took away a great deal of respect players had in previous years and gave them a “I’ll do whatever I want out there, I am owed that sort of thing”.
