1) Get an indoor Digital Antenna for your local channels. I have one and can see most NFL games.
2) Make sure your Internet Connection is plugged in and it’s at minimum 50mb. You can get by with 25, but 50mb makes it enjoyable and quick. Don’t connect by WIFI too.
3) Fox Business should have an App for your Roku III
4) If you know anyone that has a Direct TV or local cable subscription, then offer to create a Netflix streaming login for them. Legally Netflix and Direct TV will allow you to share up to 4 separate people on your account. They do not have to be family. Just give them a user name and password to use. That way you can save on paying on alacarte Apps like HBO. You just log in.
5) You may want to upgrade to a 4K TV right now. They are SUPER CHEAP right now before the 2017 TVs come in. I have a 2015 Sony 4K 49”. The picture is beautiful! Sony, Samsung or L.G. tend to be the best. I think Sony is number 1 IMO.
Finally, make sure the Fox News and Fox Business App works well before you cut the cord.
I have been meaning to re position my DSL over to my media area. The house came with a phone line running into what is essentially a hallway outside my master bath which we put in ourselves. Sigh! another project.
Anyway, I seem to have had good luck with wireless so far out here. I live in the boonies, 7 minutes away from the Timewarner bldg. which DOESN’T offer services out here.
I must be close to a collocation/switch.
What type/ model antennae do you use...? Our outdoor one is not great
