what’s the biggest problem with the 2015 refugees ?

that none of them have a clue how efficient Germans are when they work. My gut is at least 1/3 of the adults will be sent back after a couple of years, because they will never be able to hold a job. These people come from manana societies where high productivity is only taking a 2 hour afternoon nap.

My German friends and colleagues are rife with stories of how lazy the refugees are. I don’t believe the refugees are lazy. Rather, they have no idea how to work German style.

It’s really ironic how so many conservative Americans thrash the Germans because they aren`t”ferocious warriors” anymore. During WWI and especially WWII and afterwards they centainly didn`t call them that.

You really think the US would have given them one dime to rebuild after WWII if the Germans had insisted on keeping up their warrior tradition? No, they were happy to have them at their feet and keep them there (Remember Churchill, who said you either have the Germans at your throat or at your feet?)

How come Marines don’t get stationed in Germany?

As far as I know, there weren't any Marine Corps bases in Germany, but I knew 5 or 6, who were semi attached to the Air Force in Wiesbaden, when I was working in Mainz-Kastel. So, there were a few Marines, here and there, in Germany, but I don't think there were a lot of them.

Plus much of Germany still has active village militias.

its quite a surprise to go into a village pub one weekend afternoon and see it filled up with a bunch of guys in strange local uniforms with their weapons scattered about quaffing steins of beer.

This article brought back fond memories of my uncle Rudy. He was 18 years old when he enlisted in the Wehrmacht in 1940. In 1941 his unit was part of the German forces that invaded the Soviet Union.
In August of that year he was wounded by shellfire near the city of Smolensk. His infantry company which started the invasion with about 200 men was down to 120 that month.
He returned to Russia in October and took part in the fighting near Moscow, where in November he was again wounded, by gunfire. He spent 2 weeks of recuperation in the rear and was back with his unit in December, just in time for the Russian counter-offensive outside Moscow. By March of 1942 his company was down to 65 men. In 1943 he received his third wound while fighting in the Ukraine. To make a long story short he was captured by the Russians in 1944 and not released by them until 1950.
He eventually emigrated to the US in 1953. He always considered himself lucky to have only been wounded three times since many of his comrades had been wounded five or more times, in Russia.
I still recall the arguments between him and my uncle Patty who served in North Africa and Italy. But the moral of the story was that his story was not uncommon for a German serviceman during those days.
There's no comparison between today's German men and their fathers and grandfathers.

Dated a girl back in the 90’s who’s father was brought here as POW in ‘42
captured in Africa.
He was a Stuka Pilot shot down 5 times! Lucky guy to have been finally captured by the Americans.

They have 1,500,000 members in the biggest umbrella society plus another million in the other umbrella societies.

note officially they are not ‘militias’ and are merely a village hunt/shooting club, but they think of themselves as a village militia. I spoke to one drunk with a bizarre leather apron & some hand forged mystery tools in addition to his colorful regular uniform and bolt action WWII rifle. He told me he was part of the engieering detachment of the village militia.

Dang Right - we just built a wood bridge over the stream by the woods did it in less than 16 hours from felling the trees to the first crossing.

They organize themselves around the history of the village and usually have a big celebration when the recall that wonderous day in 1540 or 1360 or 1750 when the local Baron raised taxes, or some foreign lord tried to invade or pillage and the village militia kicked they butt.
