Julian Assange told Sean Hannity this week that a 14-year-old boy could have hacked John Podestas emails.
It just so happens I live with two 14-year-old boys, my sons. Both are extremely tech savvy, unlike Dad. So I thought Id ask their opinion about Assanges assertion.
First, their bona fides.
At 10, they created YouTube videos teaching how to use Rainbow Loom, a popular toy for kids that age.
They attracted half a million views and earned $450 from Google AdWords.
My wife and I tried to get them to do household chores for allowance money.
We have our own money, they told us.
More recently, they create and produce MaddenMobile and NBA Live videos for EA.com, the online gaming company.
EA.com actually flew them to their developers conference in Orlando this past summer. They were the only kids that age at the event...

With a little bit of study and some motivation, it is very easy to hack into many systems. Several months at most for someone with no knowledge of server architecture to start with.

It’s been my experience that a reasonably intelligent 14 year old knows about as much about computers as anyone you’ll find.
CNN contributor and former CIA official, Bob Baer an expert claimed, Assange going on about a 14 year-old being able to hack Podesta is nonsense.

My son hacked Toontown at age seven and Disney banned him from the game.
Somewhere, laying around stuffed away in the stuff never thrown away, I have a keystroke logger written by a 12 year old in Colorado, in assembly language. IIRC it was less than 1500 bytes.
The parents have already lost. The CHILDREN are running the show.
Hmmm, I wonder if they attend their weekly Church services. I kind of doubt it.
My 15 yr old grandson programs my cell phone for me or fixes what I screw up. He’s already taking server and router classes.
