Deeper holes beat all.
Sorry, but that is just not the case. Can’t make a hole of any kind if you aren’t carrying (Rule #1) and you can’t make a hole of any kind if you can’t hit accurately (Rule #1)
One can argue that a .44 mag or .454 or some other hand cannon will put a really deep hole in a person. The down side is that most humans are only 8 to 9 inches “thick” unless shot from the side. More than in penetration threatens over penetration and looses value. ESPECIALLY if you cant:
- carry because it is too big, too heavy, dont have a holster, etc
- operate the firearm (load, clear, fire, reload, remove a jam, etc)
- cant accurately shoot either the initial shot or the follow on shot.
A .22 that hits is worth a LOT more than the .44 mag that misses.
