I don’t think you will find too many insurance companies will to cover a 75 year old male for 100 per month, especially if he had had heart issues or cancer in his past.
You’re probably right, but about 8 years ago I was quoted $220./mo. for a high ded. policy for 2 people age 55+. Adding 10’s of thousands of younger people to the pool now that they could afford a policy would help. We would need an actuary to go over the pool. Bringing down costs by 50+ percent does a lot to reduce the policy premium. Remember that Medicaid/Medicare reimburses docs & hospitals about 15-20 cents on the dollar billed.
