The federal government shouldn’t be involved. The Cook Co. state’s attorney should charge the attackers with kidnapping, assault, and battery, and they should be tried and convicted in a Cook Co. courthouse.
For all the shit I’ve seen happen in obammys justus department this is clearly a violation of his civil rights. That I believe is federal.
