Thank God I’m am infantryman.
Coming out of college, I had no desire to be an Infantry Officer, so my choice of combat arms was Air Defense Artillery.
I thought for sure I was going into Finance Corps, as my degree was in public accounting. Silly me...lololol. The Army said I did such a great job getting that degree, they put me in ADA, partly on the recommendation of my Professor of Military Science. lololol
In its infinite wisdom, the Army done good. During my eight-plus years of active duty, I had some really incredible experiences, such as living in Germany for 4+ years. My 18 months as a Battalion S-4 (Supply Officer) was great, thanks to my degree...nobody at higher HQ screwed with us, I was running circles around them at briefings and at budget time.
The only downside was that I knew I'd never make major, as the unofficial motto of ADA is "We Eat Our Young". My OERs were great from superiors who expected independence and imagination from me, not so for those who were micromanagers.
That's ok, no regrets. Thanks for your service.

Ditto for us Combat Engineers!
