Follow the money. Condi and Gates are paid by Exxon. They support Tillerson. They are not lobbying on Bolton’s behalf because he isn’t paying them off. Time to drain the swamp ASAP.

Bolton opposed Millennium Development Goals. Good.
They were an unrealistic leftist wish list, unmoored from cause and effect polices to achieve them, that would scuttle society trying to save it. Mainly hand the US the bill for the rest of the world to live better.
For example:
- Eliminate gender disparity in primary and secondary education, preferably by 2005, and in all levels of education no later than 2015 (I guess that timeframe would require the West to pay)
- Integrate the principles of sustainable development into country policies and programs and reverse the loss of environmental resources (Energy use per $1 GDP, Carbon dioxide emissions per capita, etc., etc.)
- Deal comprehensively with the debt problems of developing countries through national and international measures.
- cancellation of official bilateral debt, and more generous official development assistance for countries committed to poverty reduction.

Those make him a good choice for the job.

In terms of cleaning out the State Department trash, he’s the perfect zero-sum, take-no-prisoners, person for the job. Let Tillerson do the delicate stuff, but put a pit bull into the important dog fights.
