Major problem with Detroit’s ballots: Votes being counted more than once
Canada Free Press ^ | 12/07/16 | Dan Calabrese

Vote early and often

Rob covered this issue in large part yesterday while I was on the road, but as a second-day followup I wanted to highlight what could be a major - and until now, largely unrealized - problem with the administration of elections in major urban counties that vote heavily Democratic.

Michigan’s recount has obviously hit some major legal hurdles, but it’s also hit a huge administrative one: Wayne County, which votes overwhelmingly Democratic and is Michigan’s largest county, can’t seem to reconcile the hand count of ballots with what the voting machines indicated. And it’s not even close, with 59 percent of precincts showing the discrepancy.

This’ll shut down Hillary’s recount effort in a flash.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Michigan law states that on a re-count....if the local precinct book and number of ballots cast at that precinct do not exactly match...then all ballots are rounded to zero at that precinct for anyone for the purpose of the re-count. So, Hillary had great numbers prior to the re-count, and if some judge doesn’t stop this, she’ll lose at least 250,000 Detroit votes (minimum). If I were the Green Party, I’d take all actions possible at this point to stop the re-count in Michigan.

"counted more than once" - I'd put money that these weren't "Trump ballots".

” If I were the Green Party, I’d take all actions possible at this point to stop the re-count in Michigan.”

Why would this scenario affect the amount of money that Stein is getting for this ruse? It behooves her to keep up this charade until the money dries up.

I think yesterday's thread indicated that the initial winner of the precinct would be certified, in the event of this kind of discrepancy. However the ballots in the precincts in question could not be subject to a recount.

But I could be wrong.

Rigged. Like we didn’t know. DemRats gotta cheat. It’s what they do. Time for a national voter ID and votes verified system to eliminate fraud.

I was just asking how many times they ran those votes through those machines. Can we fix this yet? How many elections have been stolen this way? Has Michigan *ever* really voted Democrat?

No, if they can't reconcile, it reverts to the certified vote count.

In other words, the more massive the fraud that's uncovered, the more it's ignored.

Which is what will happen with the Detroit vote count.

Michigan's law, which dates to 1954, excludes from recount precincts where "the number of ballots to be recounted and the number of ballots issued on election day as shown on the poll list or the computer printout do not match and the difference is not explained to the satisfaction of the board of canvassers."

In those cases, the vote total approved by the November canvass stands.

Yep, the recount law makes it possible to hide ballot stuffing from a recount. Stuff the ballots, register a small variance and viola, no recount!

According to state law, precincts whose poll books don’t match with ballots can’t be recounted. If that happens, original election results stand.

“It’s not good,” conceded Daniel Baxter, elections director for the city of Detroit.

I could be wrong, but it looks like the original count stands. A recount isn't allowed in the case of a discrepancy between the poll books and the ballots.

Looks like reconciling totals needs to be part of the INITIAL count process.
